How we guide you

The staff at our state service centres provide personal guidance in essential public services. We help you understand how these services work, what your rights and responsibilities are, and how to move forward with your matters.

How we guide you

Guidance and support in one place

At our service centres, you can get support in matters relating to several government agencies. Our staff can explain what each agency is responsible for, outline your next steps, and help you use their e-services (online services).

We work closely with the following government agencies:

  • The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket)
  • The Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket)
  • The Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan)
  • The Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen)
  • The Swedish Pensions Agency (Pensionsmyndigheten)

Thanks to this collaboration, we can help you with a wide range of matters – all in one visit.

Get help from our staff

Our staff can give you practical help in dealing with different government agencies. They can:

  • explain which authority is responsible for your matter
  • guide you on how to complete and submit forms
  • support you in accessing and using e-services
  • help you get a Swedish electronic ID (eID), such as BankID
  • provide information in English and other languages.

Please note that we don’t make decisions about your case. The final decisions are always made by the agency responsible for the matter.

Reasons for visiting a service centre

The most common reasons for visiting a service centre are:

  • Registration and permits: registering an address, applying for a personal identity number, or applying for or extending a residence permit.
  • Benefits and social services: questions about taxes, social insurance, parental leave and other benefits.
  • Digital support: help with eID, using online services, or submitting applications digitally.

Regardless of your situation, our staff can guide you in the right direction and help you take the next step.

When you visit a service centre

You don’t need to book an appointment – simply visit your nearest service centre during opening hours. A staff member will listen to your questions and discuss your needs with you. Together, you will go through the steps you need to take.

We can also offer you help with filling in forms or using e-services. We provide all support in person, to make it easier for you to move forward with your matters.
